Beginner Swing Dance Lessons

Perfect for those with very little or no dance experience, this class aims to introduce new dancers to the basic vocabulary of classic swing dancing in a fun and supportive environment. Topics covered include basic 6-count moves, basic 20’s-stylepartner Charleston, basic 30’s-style partner Charleston and an introduction to Lindy Hop. No registration or partner required.
Saturday Swing Lessons and Dance
Beginner & Intermediate Swing Lessons at 7:30 p.m.
Dance begins at 8:30 p.m. at The Dance Space (Richmond)
Cost: First & Third Saturday: $8
Second Saturday: $7
Students: $5
Swing dances are held in Richmond every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Saturdays at the Dance Space, 6004 W. Broad Street (above Mekong Restaurant). A beginner swing lesson is held starting at 7:30pm. An intermediate lesson is also often offered concurrently. No partner is necessary and the cost for the workshop is included with your paid admission to the dance. DJ’d tunes for swing dancing (including Lindy Hop, Balboa and Charleston) begins and 8:30 p.m. and goes until 11:30 p.m. All ages welcome!
